Requirements

IMAS EOD Level 3 at minimum Relevant education or equivalent qualifications (result focused mine action NGO or commercial EOD work, relief and development programmes or military qualifications). Experience planning and conducting survey and Battle Area Clearance (BAC) operations including liaison with local national and international agencies, non-technical and technical survey, risk assessment, clearance, EOD operations, impact assessment and post-clearance assessment, management of teams and personnel, and reporting. Experience in Humanitarian Mine Action.  Written and verbal proficiency in English.

Job Description

The Technical Field Manager (TFM) is responsible for managing NPA’s survey and clearance operations in Palau in coordination with the Operations Manager including the daily planning, supervision and execution of BAC activities, ensuring coordination with the National Safety Office, planning and implementation of training of local staff in survey, clearance techniques and other procedures in accordance with SOPs, reporting on technical, operational and administrative matters, and contribute to methodology development within NPA Palau.
